Dozens of Baby Shower Themes
By Randy Wilson

Choosing themes is the first step in planning a baby shower. Or, you may choose not to have a theme at all. However, having a theme for your shower should make the party entertaining, fun, and a memorable experience.

Before picking one, decide on what your guests would find enjoyable. Put yourself in their shoes and think about what you would want to do if you were the guests. Themes for your shower are time savers by providing a focus on the party.

The theme you decide on will determine everything else about the baby shower. The location, whom to invite, what kind of decorations, games, food and beverages.

You also need to determine if the shower will be before the baby arrives or after.

One of the themes that the Ladies would like would be a tea party. There are tea gift baskets that would work well with a tea party. Not only can Gift Baskets provide the theme for the shower, they can double as a centerpiece for your table decorations. With so many gift baskets available, you will be able to use a gift basket for almost any theme.

Baby Shower Invitation Wording

The following is an article found on EzineArticles that provide wonderful tips on creating your own invitations. Enjoy the read!

Baby Shower Invitation – Wording Tips
By Tom Bross

The wording for a baby shower invitation is similar to that of most invitations, in that it addresses the who, what, when, and where. You’ll want to let your invitees know the name of the expectant mother, the date and time of the baby shower, directions or the address of the shower, the contact info for whom guests should R.S.V.P., and if applicable, any baby registry the mother may have and any instructions for gifts or activities. You may also want to include the name of the baby and its gender, if you know what it is and would like to share.

Aside from the details of the shower, it is common to include something cute and clever in the body of the invitation, such as a small poem or verse. Before deciding on your wording, you may want to pick out your invitations so you can match the wording to the style of the shower invitations.

If you already know the gender of the baby, you can pick out a gender specific shower invitation, and include a phrase or verse to match. For a girl, you might try our It’s A Girl Ribbon Baby Shower Invitation or our Baby Girl Icons Baby Shower Invitation with the following wording:

A Baby Girl is On Her Way,
Join Us For Her Mommy’s Special Day!

Or,

Little fingers, little toes,
Cute and itsy-bitsy clothes,
Dresses, dollies, bangs and curls,
Can you guess? Yes! It’s a girl!

For a boy, we’ve got a cute and blue It’s A Boy Shower Invitation, or perhaps our Sweet Little Wagon Baby Shower Invitation is more your style. Match either of those with this baby shower invitation wording:

Soft and Sweet, A Bundle of Joy,
Our Mommy-to-Be is Expecting A Boy!

Or,

Snips and snails, and so much more!
That’s what his new mom has in store!
It’s a boy!

If you don’t know the gender of the baby, or would rather spring for a more neutral invitation, there’s plenty of options, like our Cute Pregnant Mommy Baby Shower Invitation or our Modern Baby Buggy Shower Invitation, and your baby shower invitation wording could go something like:

We’re expecting a baby, a sweet bundle of joy
A beautiful gift, whether a girl or a boy!

Or,

Cars and trucks or ribbons and bows
What are they having? No one knows!
You’re invited to a baby shower!

Don’t feel obliged to use a rhyming scheme. You can be as creative or as straightforward as you like. For something a little more simple and serious, you could try:

Join us for a baby shower honoring (expectant mother’s name),

Or,

Come join us in celebrating (expectant mother’s name) upcoming baby girl/boy!

When all is said and done, your baby shower invitation wording should look something like this:

Join us for a baby shower honoring Rachel Johnson
Tuesday, March 10th, 2009
At 2:00 pm
At the Johnson residence
1224 Main Street – Bellingham
R.S.V.P. By Feb. 27th to 777-777-7777
Rachel is registered at Babies R Us

When all is said and done, don’t forget the thank you cards!

Baby Shower Invitation Wording

Baby Shower Invitations – Enjoy the Process

Is it possible to create an appropriately matching baby shower invitation to match that of a unique, entertaining and memorable baby shower for a dear friend or family member who is expecting? The reality is a baby shower with such qualities comes at a price. But it doesn’t have to break the bank! The cost will include a sacrifice of your time, resources and talents, and you may need to recruit others to help with coordination and planning, but with a modest budget it is totally possible to pull off a fabulous event with baby shower invitations to match.

First, start with a plan that is practical and manageable. Time management is essential, so define all the necessary components, set a time-line, and execute each task until you have accomplished your goals.

An important first step to a successful shower is the baby shower invitations. This alone establishes or coordinates with the theme (if any), and of course details significant to your special event (e.g. date, time, place, baby registry info, etc). Baby shower invitations can run the gamut from hand-made creations, to fill-in-the-blanks, pre-made invitations by a stationary vendor that can be personalized, locally or online.

Baby shower invitations set the pace of the event, so it is important at this stage of planning to learn as much about the preferences (food, particular fancies, baby registry info, etc.) of the mother-to-be in order to formulate its contents. This needs to be done discreetly so as not to spill the beans about the surprise shower. If your sleuthing skills are not quite up to par with the famous Mr. Monk, then delegate this task to another (oh the joys of being in charge).

Knowing that there are numerous options available for the creation of your baby shower invitations, don’t be ashamed or hesitate to consider the best fit for your budget. You will be pleasantly surprised that many of the online paperie sources cover the modest to high-end budgets.

The online experience is also done with relative ease as you are able to proof your personalized baby shower invitations and preview them as you create it. Literally, good things can happen with the click of a button.

Planning and execution of a baby shower will come to most people intuitively, and can be a very rewarding experience for you as well as the new family. The time and energy spent in this process is truly fulfilling as you endeavor to create an entertaining and memorable occasion – make it equally as memorable for you too.

Creative Decoration Ideas

Integrating simple baby shower safari decoration ideas is a smart move when faced with a limited or tight budget. Jungle safari-type decorations are inexpensive and will help you stay within your budget. You can buy complete jungle-themed kits. If you are the creative type, mix and match with a bunch of do-it-yourself creations with items lying around the house.

A baby shower is a time to “shower” the mommy-to-be with the necessities for a newborn. Practical gifts like diapers, bathing supplies and clothing offer more value than extravagant items. Keep the decorations simple. You can accomplish much with inexpensive, yet tasteful decorative accent items for your safari baby shower theme. Leave the spoiling to grandma and grandpa – it’s their job!

Thank You Cards – How to Put Some Serious Thought Into It

For the mother-to-be, finding just the right baby shower safari thank-you cards to express her gratitude for the love and support of family and friends make even the most elegant of cards seem inadequate. As a hostess, if you feel the need to go the extra mile there are a few things that you can do to help the mommy-to-be find the right words to put pen to paper.

This is too big and important a job to do by yourself, so I would recommend recruiting someone that you trust and can depend on to help you get it done right. Your recruit will be the proverbial “fly-on-the-wall” observing and recording every bit of detail possible that the mommy-to-be can use for her baby shower safari thank-you cards.
